SAN ANTONIO -- A woman escaped her burning car on Wednesday morning after rear-ending an 18-wheeler on Loop 410 near Ray Ellison Boulevard.
The 30-year-old Sofia Barnes' car slid into the grassy median and burst into flames around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, San Antonio police said.
She was able to get herself out of the car before it burst into flames, police said, and was later taken to University Hospital with a broken ankle.
Neither the driver nor the passenger inside the truck were injured.
Witnesses said it appeared that Barnes wasn't paying attention to the road.
