SAN ANTONIO — A 67-year-old woman is recovering in the hospital after police say two men mugged her outside a northeast-side pharmacy.

According to family members, Joanna Warner was left with a fractured skull following the attack on Tuesday evening.

“You have two young males beating a 67-year-old female. We don’t really see this type of crime too often," said San Antonio police Officer Matt Porter. "It’s sickening.”

One the suspects, 20-year-old Charles Jones, has been arrested in connection to the attack. His alleged accomplice, however, is still on the loose. Officers said he is suspected of hitting Warner over the head and snatching her purse.

As family members hope and pray Joanne makes a full recovery, they also hope police get the second suspect off the street, quickly.

“They need to be brought to justice and an example made of them so they don't do this anymore to other people, as well as my sister,” said Nadine Goodlet, the victim's sister.

Officers said they have surveillance video of the attack and also urge anyone with more information to call police.
