SAN ANTONIO -- Police are investigating the death of a man whose half-naked body was found slumped up against a commercial building Wednesday morning on the city's east side.

Police said an officer was flagged down around 7:30 a.m. by a person at a bus stop reporting a sick or injured person outside the Boost Mobile store at the intersection of S. New Braunfels and Steves. The body was reportedly leaning between a church and the back of a building.

Police Chief William McManus says investigators were first trying to determine if  the man, said to be in his mid 30s, fell from a roof but as of Wednesday afternoon investigators ruled the incident a homicide. A broken bottle covered with blood was found next to the victim's body.

Police located some clothing nearby, but, as yet, are not sure if they belong to the victim.

Officers also placed nearly seven markers on the sidewalk outside a home in the 1800 block of Steves Avenue -- not far from where the body was found.
