SAN ANTONIO -- A motorcyclist is recovering in the hospital with several broken bones after slamming into the side of a car on Thursday night.

The motorcyclist was driving eastbound on Culebra when a Dodge Neon darted out in front of him, San Antonio police said.

The driver of the Dodge was pulling out of the Bank of America parking lot and heading for the H-E-B parking lot across the street, police said.

The motorcyclist didn't have time to react, police said, and slammed into the side of the crossing car around 10:25 p.m.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.
