A San Antonio ISD accountant is accused of stealing money from the system's accounts by way of two school programs.

According to an arrest warrant, Albert Trujillo is accused of doctoring deposit slips to funnel cash right into his pockets.

Police said he admitted to fixing the slips, but he said he has no idea where the funds went.

Trujillo is charged with misapplication of fiduciary property. The 42-year-old is out of jail on a $5,000 bond.

According to the warrant, the senior internal auditor for the San Antonio ISD notified SAISD police on Jan. 20 about money missing from the accounting office.

The GED program and day care center had deposit slips altered to hide stolen cash, police said.

The warrant indicates that GED program officials were the first to notice that their financial documents showed a $500 decrease on two separate occasions. It is alleged that Trujillo was responsible for this decrease and that he did the same thing with the day care center account.

The arrest document alleges that Trujillo reworked deposit slips in April and May 2011. They believe he took $1200 in cash from the system.

He reportedly confessed to system investigators that he doctored the financial documents. The warrant states that he even offered to pay back the missing cash.

School police said Trujillo also confessed to the deposit slips alterations.
