A San Antonio man is hospitalized in critical condition following a house explosion on the south side.
According to authorities, the homeowner didn't realize that his space heater was leaking gas and lit a cigarette, igniting a flash fire.
SAFD crews rushed to the 800 block of McCauley Ave. around noon Saturday, to battle the flames.
The fire caused extensive damage to the home and the victim was rushed to a local hospital with severe burns.
