San Antonio police say just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, a burglar broke into the Guadalupe Lumberyard in  the 4600 block of Rigsby Avenue on the city's east side.

Investigators say when the store’s alarms went off, the owner pulled up security cameras from his home and spotted the suspect inside the store. He then called police.

When officers arrived, the suspect scrambled through the back of the store and took off.

Police ran after him, and that's when one was injured climbing over a barbed wire fence.

The officer was treated on the scene and is expected to be ok.

Blue Eagle and a K-9 unit scoured the area but did not find the suspect.

According to police,  they arrived just in time. The burglar wasn't able to take anything.
