S.A. man accused of threatening girlfriend with tire iron

SAN ANTONIO -- A 32-year old man was arrested Monday night and faces aggravated kidnapping charges for allegedly threatening his girlfriend with tire iron and holding her against her will.

According to a San Antonio police arrest affadavit, Jesus Sotelo kidnapped his 30-year-old girlfriend from a relative's home in the 6100 block of Deer Valley Drive.

Relatives told officers that Sotelo threatened them with a tire iron if they tried to stop him from taking the woman, police said.

Sotelo allegedly forced the woman into his car and beat her as he drove to a secluded area.

Investigators said the woman was able to run away and find a police officer that was patroling the area after Sotelo's car hit a curb and got a flat tire.

Sotelo disappeared from the scene but was arrested a short time later.

He was taken to Bexar County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
