SAN ANTONIO -- A group of frustrated residents at the Oak Terrace Apartments in the 9600 block of Powhatan Drive have decided to be their own detectives.
They are vowing to stop the rash of car break-ins at their complex, and they'll do whatever it takes.
"We're going to take shifts and stay up all night, sleeping in cars and wandering the parking lots to catch the burglars," said Martin Cordero and Melinda Horlen.
Horlen's car was among at least ten cars broken into last week.
"They hit Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Tuesday again," Said Horlen.
And it wasn't the first time the burglars have targeted this complex. Back in June, Cordero says his car was stolen. He was forced to buy a new one and he says he now has to pay double the insurance.
"We are going to get pictures, license numbers," said Cordero.
As for Horlen, she no longer has the tolerance for the burglars, "I'm going to shoot. I don't want to hurt anyone. Don't come here. Leave us alone."
KENS 5 stopped by the Oak Terrace Apartments Lease Office. No one was inside for comment.
