Two businesses that are separated by less than two miles were burglarized within minutes of each other late Thursday night.

San Antonio police are trying to determine whether the two smash-and-grab crimes are connected.

SAPD responded to a break-in at Romeo's Rental Purchase in the 6500 block of Northwest Loop 410. The call came in at 11:42 p.m.

Investigators said thieves slammed a vehicle into a door at the business. However, the crooks left empty-handed because the televisions they sought were secured in a special room.

Seven minutes later, San Antonio police were called to the 4500 block of Callaghan for another smash-and-grab.

The burglars shattered one of the front glasses of the Davita San Antonio West Dialysis. They stole two televisions from the business.

A person affiliated with the business told Kens5.com that the business has been burglarized for its televisions before.

Investigators said Davita has surveillance video of the crime. Police hope to use that to develop leads.

When caught, the culprits will face burglary charges.
