SAN ANTONIO -- Law enforcement in San Antonio and Bexar County are cracking down on driver who don't clear the lane for emergency vehicles.

On Monday, San Antonio police will be focusing on the "move over" law that  requires drivers to yield to police, emergency crews and even tow trucks

“The laws been on the books for about 10 years, or so, but people don’t know about it,” SAPD officer Thomas Fields said.

If the lane is blocked, drivers must drop their speed to 20 mph under the speed limit. Otherwise, they could receive a $200 ticket.

Fields said law enforcement will be focusing extra attention on I-35 all the way to Georgetown.
