SAN ANTONIO -- A statue erected to honor fallen San Antonio police officers has fallen prey to vandals.
The statue at Gorrell Park on the city's north side has been hit by vandals several times since it was put up three weeks ago.
The park itself is named after San Antonio police officer Eddie Gorrell who was killed in the line of duty back in 1988.
The statue has been wrapped in plastic and taped up in an effort to protect it from further destruction.
If you have any information regarding the vandalism, you are asked to contact San Antonio Park Police at 210-207-8590 or the SAPD non-emergency line at 210-207-SAPD.
