A San Antonio women is charged with identity theft after investigators say she hacked into Verizon Wireless accounts.
Authorities say Lavetta Harrison, 23, orchestrated a clever plan of hijacking cell phone accounts, on which she racked up hundreds of dollars in calling charges.
Investigators say the identity theft scheme started in October 2009. She apparently even had the cell phones delivered to her home address in the 1100 block of Rivas, then had the victims pay for it.
According to the arrest warrant, Harrison stole social security numbers of unsuspecting victims and ordered a handful of cell phones with nationwide calling plans.
The alleged scheme finally ended after one of the victims and delivery service personnel caught on.
According to the arrest warrant, one of the victims found out after getting a confirmation e-mail from the wireless company.
Investigators say there were four victims of this identity theft.
Harrison is now out of jail on bond.
