A wrong-way driver near downtown San Antonio slammed into a car, almost killing the passenger officers say.
According to authorities, the driver of a red Chevy Cavalier was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of I-37 Saturday around 4:20 a.m. when it struck a PT Cruiser.
The driver of the Cruiser saw the Cavalier just in time, and managed to swerve. She avoided a head-on collision, but was still hit pretty hard.
She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The male passenger was reportedly OK.
The driver of the Cavalier was also taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
