FREDERICKSBURG, Texas -- Oktoberfest is returning to the Texas Hill Country for the 32nd year.
The city of Fredericksburg will host the celebration of "Texas gemütlichkeit" (which means cosiness) Oct. 5-7.
Organizers say there will be live music, dancing, food and fun for the whole family. On Saturday there will be a festival-wide chicken dance on Main Street. Artists will also set up tents and sell their collectibles and handmade art.
German and Mexican-American food will be for sale during Oktoberfest, as well as more than 50 kinds of American, Texan and imported beer.
The Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance has sponsored Oktoberfest since it began in 1981. Funds go toward student scholarships and the local arts.
Oktoberfest will last from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
