SAN ANTONIO -- A flash flood watch has been issued for Bexar County and counties throughout South Texas as the area prepares for a soggy weekend.

KENS 5 meteorologist Jared Silverman said the viewing area can expect 2 to 4 inches of rain, with isolated pockets to the east and west receiving as much as 8 inches on Saturday evening.

"Everybody has the potential to see that flooding. This is an event that the whole viewing area has to be concerned with," Silverman said.

Some areas saw some rain showers on Thursday that quickly swept in and left behind vibrant rainbows. KENS 5 viewers had their cameras ready and shared these photos.

Pockets of heavy rainfall are expected to begin Friday night and will continue into Saturday morning, Silverman said. Flooding is possible along creeks, rivers and other low-laying areas.

"Sunday should be a pretty decent day," Silverman said. "Nice and dry."
