SAN ANTONIO -- A woman who was shot by her boyfriend took the stand Tuesday to testify against the man prosecutors say killed her mother and sister.
Candice Moten says that when she woke up from a week-long coma, she her mother and sister had been murdered and her unborn child was dead, too.
But the defendant says it was his life that was at stake and he was defending himself against the three women.
"He put a gun to Krsytle's head," testified Moten. She's the only victim who survived a triple shooting on April 18, 2009 at the Saddlewood Apartments in northeast San Antonio.
Prosecutors say James David Morrison was her boyfriend at them time of the killings.
Morrison's defense team does not deny he pulled the trigger, but it's why he did it that they say should get him off the hook. He says he was defending himself from the three women and he says all of them were much larger than him.
"He shot us -- period," testified Candice.
