SAN ANTONIO -- Police say a 43-year-old man has confessed to stealing jewelry and a gun from his family members.
According to a San Antonio police warrant, James Robinson III was arrested Tuesday on two counts of theft.
Police said Robinson was asked to do pet sitting for family members in November while they were out of town. He reportedly used that opportunity to steal some of their valuables.
Family members confronted Robinson over a missing gold bracelet, police said, and then realized 24 pieces of jewelry and a .38 Smith and Wesson were also missing
Police were able to locate some of the items in a number of pawn stores. However, some the jewelry is still missing police said.
According to the warrant, Robinson admitted to stealing the items in order to get attention from family member. He told police that he felt left out.
Police said Robinson works as a Northside Independent School District custodian and a SAPD crossing guard.
Robinson is out of jail on bonds totaling $10,000.
