ATASCOSA COUNTY -- The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office has obtained a murder warrant for a teen suspect in the killing of former County Commissioner Tommy Shearrer.

Justice of the Peace Jackie Bodden signed off on a murder warrant late Wednesday night.

Manuel De Los Reyes Galeas, 19, was originally a "person of interest" after Shearrer's body was discovered inside his pickup truck on Wednesday morning.

Bodden declined to release the affidavit to KENS 5, asking that a formal open records request be filed.

The relationship between Galeas and Shearrer is still unknown.

Under the Freedom of Information Act, Bodden has 10 days to respond to the request.

Authorities were still searching for Galeas on Thursday.

Shearrer was a well-known business man and rancher in Atascosa County, and served as county commission in the late 90s. He was 56.

His body was found inside his truck on St. Augustine Road between Farm Road 3006 and U.S. 281 -- about four miles north of Pleasanton.
