SAN ANTONIO -- A 26-year-old motorcyclist is recovering in the hospital after striking a buck early Wednesday morning.
Jonathan Franco hit the deer around 12:22 a.m. while riding eastbound on the I-10 access road between Wurzbach Parkway and Ramsgate, San Antonio police said.
One of the deer's antler was stuck between the motorcycle seat and the engine following the crash. The deer was allegedly hit by several other vehicles and died at the scene.
Franco was taken to University Hospital.
Officers said he was wearing a helmet.
