SAN ANTONIO -- A memorial service will be held Monday afternoon for the recent Churchill High School graduate who was found dead in his car last week.
William Patterson was a freshman at Baylor University.
The 18-year-old's body was recovered from the back of his burning car on Thursday morning on a country road outside Waco. Authorities confirmed the body's identity Friday after matching dental records in Dallas.
A memorial service is set for 2 p.m.at Woodland Baptist Church, 15315 Huebner Road. Visitation will take place at 1 p.m.
A scholarship fund has also been created in Patterson's honor. Donations may be made to the Will Patterson Memorial Scholarship Fund and sent to Baylor University, One Bear Place 97050, in Waco, 76798-7050.
McLennan County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Randy Plemons says officials have been analyzing the car for evidence. The cause of death has not yet been released.
