SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police say a man demanded sexual favors from a hit-and-run suspect in exchange for his silence. His alleged coercion has landed him in jail.

Iobani Gomez was arrested on sexual assault, drug, and evidence tampering charges. He remains behind bars trying to make bond.

According to an arrest warrant, Gomez claimed the intoxicated victim hit his car. Investigators said the woman had hit another vehicle. The 23-year-old suspect reportedly devised the plan because the victim had been drinking.

She alleges he chased her car into a cul-de-sac on June 18 and blocked her in. He reportedly got into her vehicle and requested a sex act in exchange for not calling SAPD.

Police said the woman complied with the sex deal to keep from going to jail. According to the warrant, the demands escalated. Now, Gomez allegedly wanted to go to the victim's house for more sexual favors. Investigators said he took her cell phone and followed her home.

According to the arrest document, her daughter came out to see what was going on. Police said the mother feared for her child's safety, so she said everything was fine. Gomez then allegedly sexually assaulted the victim again.

According to the warrant, the woman did not call police until she spoke with a friend. Investigators said Gomez had left his driver's license in her car.

He was taken into custody on an unrelated charge. Police said he initially denied the allegations. They said he confessed to the crime after investigators confronted him with the damage comparisons to the victim's vehicle.

Gomez still insisted part of the encounter was consensual.
