Sewage spilled in highway crash
A tanker truck tipped over in a crash and dumped 200 gallons of raw sewage on I-10 on the far east side of the city early Monday morning.
The spill led to a major shutdown on westbound lanes, and traffic was backed up for least five miles, officials said.
The tanker truck and a pickup truck collided at about 5:30 a.m. Monday, causing the tanker truck to flip on its side.
The highway was re-opened to traffic after 8:30 a.m.
