SAN ANTONIO -- A local woman charged with the death of her son opted for a plea deal instead of a trial.
Janie Altamirano's two-year-old son was found dead in her home in 2010. An autopsy showed he died as a result of blunt force trauma.
As part of the plea deal, Altamirano faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for serious bodily injury to a child by omission. Her boyfriend, Michael Pastran, also faces charges.
