SAN ANTONIO --This weekend’s special events require special clothes. And none of the Red Fox Cleaner’s customers will get theirs anytime soon.

“I have a bridal shower to go to, and I actually had a few dresses in there for that, but I don’t know,” said Taryn Munoz. “I have 10 things in there, I need to get.”

Overnight, the signs went up, the locks changed at 4 Red Fox Cleaners and one Fiesta location. The sudden shut-down leaves some customers with the shirts on their backs… and little else.

“They’re closed with no notice, no phone numbers. And my wife comes back Wednesday, and she’s got some clothes here too. Momma’s not going to be happy,” said one man, as he attempted to drop off two of his white dress shirts, only to see the “closed” sign.

“At least I got one more underwear left. Now I’m going to have to go out and buy myself a suit,” said another customer.

Employees say it’s not just clothing—for them, it’s their livelihood. Friday the 13th is supposed to be a payday.

“Yesterday we were getting shipments in and handing out clothes and today we can’t even get in to get our checks,” said Kiah Herod, an employee of Red Fox Cleaners.

Instead their labor for the last two weeks adds up to zero, and that doesn’t sit well.

“It hurts a lot you know? We have all these bills and payments. We need our money,” said Alvessa Lopez, another employee.

“I’m pissed. They owe me for one week, for 38 hours; last week 45 hours; this week 36 hours, and not a dime of it,” said employee Debbie Percival.

The owners of Red Fox didn't return our calls.

At least one property owner, where the Fiesta Cleaners rents its space on Huebner, says they have every intention of getting the clothes back to the customers.

And the landlord for the Red Fox Cleaners on Vance Jackson said clothes from that store will be transferred to the Rose Cleaners on NW Military.
