Bexar County detectives are investigating a local contractor who they say could be ripping off the public.

Bernice Sanchez said she is out thousands of dollars because the work being done to her home was never completed and her house was left with lots of damage.

Sanchez needed the siding replaced on her home, so she hired a contractor that claimed to have "integrity" in its business name.

Ken Fitzpatrick is the owner of Integrity First Home Improvements. Sanchez said his workers showed up, tore off the trim to her home, and never came back.

KENS 5 contacted Fitzpatrick's Boerne office and left messages, but the station's phone calls weren't returned.

Meanwhile, detectives with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said this isn't the first complaint they've received about Fitzpatrick.

Investigators said he also failed to pay some of his employees.

Sanchez said she's out more than $6,000. The case is still under investigation.
