Poll:
Should Arizona fight or rewrite its law?
SAN ANTONIO -- It is a victorious day for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) along with civil rights' activists who held a press conference at the Cesar Chavez building on the east side of town.
They reacted to U.S. District judge, Susan Bolton's decision as she removed portions of the law.
Jamie Martinez with LULAC says the fight for freedom is not over. He says people in Arizona are so terrified, they are moving out of the state and moving to Texas and New Mexico.
Martinez has been to Arizona recently and says some places are like a ghost town with local businesses closing. Some local Mexican families joined LULAC Thursday to talk about the hardship this is having on them. Children speaking at the press conference say they are afraid they will be torn apart from their parents.
Businesses across the map have also been effected.
United Food Commercial Workers represents employees in San Antonio, some of whom come from other countries. They say the mass raids have been a nightmare.
John Montgomery says, "We've had several raids on our plants in the last three years. Families have been disrupted and in some instances children are left behind and the parents are taken away."
LULAC along with other organizations will march in Washington at midnight on September 16.
