SAN ANTONIO -- Wednesday evening a U.S.A.F. military training instructor stationed at Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland received his sentence in a sexual misconduct investigation involving several officers.
On Wednesday Staff Sgt. Kwinton Estacio was acquitted of sexually assaulting a boot camp graduate.
According to the Associate Press, the court said there was not enough evidence to support that charge.
But Estacio was found guilty of lesser charges including having an unprofessional relationship with a trainee, two counts of violating an order from his commander and guilty of obstructing justice.
Estacio was sentenced to 12 months in prison and was given a bad conduct discharge. He was also stripped of his rank, dropping him to the level of private, the lowest enlisted rank in the U.S. Air Force.
Estacio's case is part of a broader sexual misconduct investigation involving more than a dozen instructors.
