Students and staff in the Judson ISD had their daily routines scuttled as authorities in Live Oak searched for a home-invasion suspect Wednesday morning.

Authorities said when a man broke into a home in the 7800 block of Trumbal the homeowner confronted him, injuring the suspect's neck.

He took off bleeding, but law enforcement agencies using canine, helicopter and various ground units  managed to find and arrest 35-year-old Andy Ortiz Guzman.

Police say Guzman knew the occupants of the home and that the crime was not a random act of violence. Apparently, Guzman suffered a few cuts and other injuries while allegedly breaking into the home through a window.

While authorities were searching for the suspect, Ed Franz Elementary School and the administration building across the street went into lockdown for a short period of time.

Police departments in  Universal City and Selma, as well as the Judson ISD Police Department assisted Live Oak police in rounding up the suspect.
