SAN ANTONIO -- A father takes his kids to a PG movie but gets an X-rated show instead.
Andres Delgado claims an employee was performing a sexual act in the restroom and the theater did nothing to stop it.
Delgado says the incident took place last Sunday when he took his family to the Cinemark Movies 16 located in the 5000 block of NW Loop 410.
Delgado says he always thought a movie theater would be a safe place for his 5 and 7-year-old children until he says he walked in on a disturbing scene.
"There was a man standing by the urinals, exposing himself and masturbating," Said Delgado, "He made eye contact. It caught my eye and he just looked at me and continued to do it even more aggressively."
Delgado says he grabbed an assistant manager and ran back to the restroom. Turns out, according to Delgado, the man likely in his 60's is an employee.
"Even the assistant manager said he was masturbating in the restroom. Right there, in front of everyone," the father of two said.
Delgado recalls telling that assistant manager to call police immediately.
"He told me he called the cops and I asked him three times. He said he did but he never really did. I called headquarters several times and left messages. They haven't returned my calls. What's more upsetting is that there is nothing being done about it," Delgado said.
Delgado added that he called police himself. SAPD tells KENS 5 an officer did respond to that call but no arrests were made for unknown reasons at this time.
Meanwhile, KENS 5 went to the movie theater on Wednesday. The local manager on duty declined to comment.
A spokesperson for Cinemark's headquarters told us on the phone: " This is the first we are hearing of this incident and we're looking into the situation."
Delgado says the only response he has gotten so far was three free movie passes he was given by the assistant manager the day the incident happened.
And while he's relieved his kids weren't in the restroom with him, Delgado tells KENS 5 he wants the employee fired and to ensure that this never happens to anyone else.
"Take action instead of trying to sweep it under the carpet," Delgado said. "I'm glad this happened to me and not to a 6 or 8 year old."
