Cool temperatures were expected throughout the state Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, with a freeze warning issued for the Hill Country entending all the way southeast to Bexar County, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters for the weather service predict the freeze will end in most areas by later Wednesday morning. The freeze warning is set to expire at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Clear skies, light wind and low moisture were expected to combine to allow temperatures to drop below freezing in many areas overnight.

Isolated low-lying areas north of Fredericksburg could experience a hard freeze, forecasters said.
