Accusation: Ex-security guard Tasered, Maced, beat up couple

A former security guard has been arrested after being accused of assaulting an elderly couple.

SAPD says 37-year-old Alan Hughes knew the 82-year-old and 83-year-old who he allegedly attacked.

Reportedly, Hughes had even borrowed money from them in the past.

Police say Hughes got into an argument with the couple at their home. They say that is when he used Mace and a Taser on them before he beat them up. Then Hughes allegedly ran off with the woman's purse.

The couple was treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.

Hughes was arrested Friday at his residence.
