San Antonio firefighters turned up the heat with a Sunday barbecue.
The local heroes took part in the barbecue throw-down in hopes of claiming the title for best barbecue recipe.
Of course, it was all for a good cause. The event befitted the Texas Burn Survivor Society.
"That's kind of what we as a department are all about - is helping others. And this is just one more way we can do it. It's a great cause, and especially in a lot of occasions it benefits the children, and that's definitely where my heart is with this - helping children," said Richard Barbosa of Fire Station 21.
In between cooking, firefighters taught the guests about grilling safety and fire prevention.
