SAN ANTONIO -- Thirteen fire units were on the scene of a fire at the two-story Churchill Park Apartments Friday afternoon.
Firefighters say it started on the first floor and quickly spread to the second. It took 100 firefighters to quell those flames.
All residents were safely evacuated from the complex at 1200 Patricia, behind Churchill High School.
Sixteen apartment units were affected, thirteen of those were occupied at the time the fire broke out. In the end, eight units suffered significant damage.
Now, 26 people are homeless after those flames destroyed their building. Apartment management is working on finding those displaced residents somewhere to stay temporarily.
Early reports say the fire started in Building 10. Arson investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
There have been no reports of any injuries, though emergency crews did have to revive a cat.
