Despite heavy rainfall throughout Friday night and early Saturday morning, the San Antonio area managed to make it through the night without any high-water rescues.
But we did have a close call.
Fire crews responded to a water rescue call on I-35 North at Splashtown early Saturday morning.
But by the time they arrived, they found two cars abandoned in several inches of water.
They said it appeared the drivers were able to get out safely.
TxDOT officials were called, and barricades were put in place.
The slick roads also caused one driver to lose control of his car and crash into a fence.
It happened just before 5:30 a.m. at Patricia and Vista View.
San Antonio olice said after the accident, witnesses repoted that two men were seen getting out of the car and fighting.
They apparently continued to fight as they ran away from the scene. Police had not caught up with them as of mid-morning Saturday.
The family that lives in the house said the fence has been hit several times in the last 30-plus years.
