The Bexar County Fire Marshall is investigating an overnight fire that destroyed a mobile home.

Bexar County officials say the fire started just before 2:00 a.m. at a south side mobile home park located at FM1937 and 2nd Street.

Neighbors say the couple living there had left to go to the store when the fire started.

A woman who lives across from the couple said she called 911 as soon as she saw smoke and flames coming from the back of the mobile home.

"At it's worse, I saw nothing but bright yellow and orange flames. I saw balls of flame everywhere," said Corina Ochoa.

Three fire departments were called to the scene including Atta-Bexar, Bexar and South Bexar County fire departments.

The cause of the fire is not known.
