BEXAR COUNTY -- An elderly couple says their trusted caretaker stole from right under their noses.

"She took advantage of the whole situation," said the victim, who wished to remain anonymous.

Diana Carillo was working as the couple's caregiver for nearly two years. They said they trusted her. That is until Carillo allegedly forged their signature on a check to herself for $500.

"I didn't actually believe she could do such a thing," the victim said.

It took a while before the couple grew suspicious.

Carillo had offered to help the couple with their bills. Soon after, the couple said they started getting calls from collectors. They also suspect Carillo stole one of their credit cards.

Investigators with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office quickly caught up with Carillo and placed her under arrest. They said it is not Carillo's first time in jail for something like this.

"It's gonna take an awful lot to trust anybody again," the victim said.
