SAN ANTONIO -- Westbound Loop 1604 near Lookout Road was closed on Monday morning after an accident and subsequent fuel leak.

According to Live Oak police, a pickup truck lost control while entering Loop 1604 from I-35 and slammed into a tractor trailer.

The collision ruptured the 18-wheeler's fuel tank.

The spill was stopped and contained, police said, although hazardous materials crews were still conducting environmental cleanup hours later.

Officers were not immediately sure how long it would take crews to finish the environmental cleanup.

All westbound traffic was being diverted to the access road at the Lookout Road exit. Vehicles could re-enter Loop 1604 at Nacogdoches Road.
