Investigators knew it was only a matter of time before they got suspect number three in a murder case that dates back more than a decade. This morning, that man joins two others behind bars.

Gilbert Cardenas was arrested on a warrant in the 1800 block of Sacramento on Thursday. He is the third suspect wanted in the August 1997 murder of Conrad Arredondo. The victim was found beaten and stabbed to death in west Bexar County.

Two other arrests were made earlier this month by Bexar County deputies in this same case. Joe Casas and Alfred Deleon for was booked for their part in the crime.

Cardenas is reportedly the final suspect in this case. They are all booked for murder.

Cardenas' bond is set at $100,000.
