Gary Dieterman pled no-contest to aggravated sexual assault of a child Thursday.
Dieterman is accused of abusing his caretakers autistic 6-year-old daughter in 2006. According to police affidavits when Live Oak police went to his house to investigate the allegations through his living room window they saw a child’s head on his lap.
The prosecution also introduced other evidence against Dieterman that they discovered during their investigation of the case. They believe Dieterman may have been abusing the 6-year-old's two brothers at the same time.
In 2006 police could not charge Dieterman because of lack of evidence. According to police reports, it wasn’t until two years later that his stepson told authorities about photos of young nude girls on his computer.
This allowed police to re-open the case.
Dieterman is currently serving an 8-year sentence in federal prison in Virginia for child pornography.
Judge Ron Rangel sentenced Dieterman to 15 years concurrently with his 8-year pornography sentence. He may be eligible for parole in about 7 ½ years.

Dieterman will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
