Three suspected armed robbers are in jail after reportedly confessing to robbing a cell phone store at gunpoint.
According to San Antonio police, two suspects who may have been wearing masks walked into a Cricket cell phone store in the 4400 block of Blanco Road and demanded cash just before closing time Thursday night.
One of the suspects had a gun, say police. The other was allegedly toting a stun-gun.
Officers say the men left the store with just over $2,000. A third suspect drove them away from the scene.
The trio did not count on a man eating at a restaurant across the street who followed the suspects. Investigators say he gave officers a suspect and vehicle description as well as a license plate number.
Armed with that information, police were cornered the alleged robbers in the 500 block of Arbor.
Gerarldo Hernandez and Rolando Gomez were arrested. Police later charged a third suspect who allegedly pretended to be a witness at the Arbor scene. According to police, the men confessed to the robbery.
Investigators recovered the stolen cash, a gun, a stun gun, and masks. The men are being charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
