About 200 local foster children received new a new hairstyle - just in time for their first day of school.
On Monday Child Protective Services hosted a hair-a-thon.
They teamed up with students from the Aveda Institute, local hairstylists and the San Antonio Food Bank to make the event a success.
Breakfast and lunch were provided to each of the children. Professionals trained foster parents on ethnic hair care and maintenance.
The event took place Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Aveda Institute on E. Grayson
CPS says it wants to make sure learning is the focus when they head back to school.
