Late Saturday afternoon, a total of eight apartments caught fire at the Heights at Midcrown Apartments on the 8000 block of Midcrown Dr.

It took a total of 28 fire units to put the fire out. Investigators say they do not know what started the fire but do not consider it suspicious.

This makes the third time in 2012 that fire crews have responded to a fire at the apartment complex.

The fire displaced three families and the Fire Department says the Red Cross and apartment managers worked to get the families in new apartments.

The estimated damages are unknown at this time but crews say the building that burned is a total loss.

No one was reported injured during the fire.
