A three-year-old San Antonio boy taken during his caretaker's funeral has been found.

Little Gabriel Rivera had been missing since Sunday, but SAPD was not notified until Tuesday  morning. Just before 7 a.m. they issued an Amber Alert. Authorities believed Gabriel was in immediate danger. But within hours of the alert, the child was turned over to authorities.

Now, police are sorting out his life's story to determine what happened.

Gabriel was not in his mother's custody and when his caretaker died. It appears that family members moved in to take the little boy back at the caretaker's funeral.

But once the two relatives saw the Amber Alert the child was delivered to police. The two relatives are being questioned and police will determine whether or not they will face criminal charges.

Child Protective Services is now involved in the case. They will decide where the child will go so that he is safe and protected.
