Local authorities have made an arrest after park police raised the alert on what could be an illegal dog-fighting operation.

On Thursday, officers at the Medina River Natural Area notified Animal Care Services when  they spotted 38 dogs at a property on Fest Road in South Bexar County.

One person was arrested at the location and ACS confiscated 36 pit bulls and 2 poodles. The dogs were taken in to the ACS facility at Hwy. 151 and Old Hwy. 90 for de-worming.

ACS says they believe the animals might have been used for dog fighting. All the dogs will be held in quarantine until the court make a decision in the matter. None of the dogs are available for adoption at this time, ACS said.
