ZAPATA, Texas – Border Patrol agents seized nearly 600 pounds of marijuana on Wednesday during a traffic stop near Falcon Lake.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were notified of some unusual activity and located the suspected truck outside a residence in the area, according to a press release.
Inside the abandoned truck, agents found 50 wrapped bundles of marijuana, weighing in at 587.8 pounds and carrying an estimated street value of $470,320.
Moments later, the homeowner was found driving nearby but was released due to insufficient evidence, according to the release.
