TEXAS -- A Carrollton woman in her 80s died from the West Nile virus on Friday, bringing the death toll in the Dallas- Fort Worth area to at least 19.

Meanwhile, West Texas has reported its second West Nile death.

The state total sits at 30, including two in Central Texas. Mosquitoes spread the virus from birds to people. Symptoms include: neck stiffness, disorientation and paralysis.
