AUSTIN, Texas -- Local musicians put on a benefit concert for the survivors of Haiti's devastating earthquake. For ten hours Sunday, seventeen Austin musicians came together to play at the Austin Music Hall for Haitian relief. Paula Nelson was one of them.

“I cry every single time I see the images of the destruction and devastation,” said Nelson. I’m so glad I was asked to be a part of this and I’ll do whatever I can to help.”

Nelson believes music is all about healing.  She hopes this concert is only the beginning of her help.

“Maybe we can start a trend and get others to do the same,” she said.

The concert was part of a music fundraiser called “Help Austin Help Haiti". It was yet another way for people to donate to quake victims. In addition to the top musical acts, there was also a silent auction. All the proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction will go to the Clinton-Bush Fund and Oxfam America for the relief efforts in Haiti.
