A Texas veteran seriously injured in Iraq has opened a new door to his future.

Kevin Bowden has been unable to work since suffering a traumatic brain injury following an IED attack.

His family was staying with relatives, but six people in a three-bedroom home quickly became crowded.

The Homes for Wounded Heroes program stepped in and handed over the keys to his newly renovated home.

"I'm completely astonished it happened," said Bowden. "Amazed. I'm speechless. Completely speechless."

The five-bedroom house is valued at $175,000. Bank of America partnered with the Homes for Wounded Heroes program to make it possible.
