Metro Health confirms ninth case of Zika in San Antonio

The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District has confirmed another case of Zika in San Antonio, bringing the city’s total to nine.

This case, like all the others confirmed in San Antonio, was acquired while the person was traveling abroad.

No other information has been released about the person carrying the virus.

In a press release, Metro Health reiterated safety measures to prevent mosquitoes including removing standing water from a home, properly protecting stored water, minimizing exposed skin when outside, and protecting exposed skin with DEET or Picaridin products.
